Institutional Computer Replacement

IT recommends laptop computers be replaced every five years and desktop computers replaced every six years, subject to approval of the replacement budget by budget managers for the College of Arts and Sciences and Common Services.

Computers are replaced beginning with the oldest.

This process begins June 1st (around the new fiscal year) and will last throughout the year. Replacements are scheduled started with the oldest computers on a rolling basis. You can expect an email communication detailing your replacement. If you have questions or think you may have missed an email, contact itservice@lclark.edu.

IT Operations (Common Services, CAS, GSEC) and Law Computing (Law) will work with the employee and their department administrator to determine the most appropriate institutionally issued, standardized, Mac or PC platform, for their replacement computer.

Once you receive your confirmation email you will be able to schedule your replacement appointment. This appointment takes place at your convenience.

During your installation a member of Information Technology will assist in making sure you are seamlessly moved over to your new computer and are able to continue your work as you were prior to your deployment.
