The LC Guest network provides free, internet-only access for visitors. Please note that this is an unsecured network and does not permit connection to internal Lewis & Clark systems
Lewis & Clark welcomes all visitors and provides free internet access during your time on campus. The steps below walk you through our simple, email-based registration process. Use the following instructions to connect to the LC Guest Wi-Fi network. This network is for guest use. Lewis & Clark account holders should connect to our secure network as LC Guest does not permit connection to internal Lewis & Clark systems.

- Connect to LC Guest in your device’s Wi-Fi settings.

What kind of access does LC Guest provide?
LC Guest is an unsecured, internet-only network and does not allow connection to internal Lewis & Clark systems.
How long does the connection last?
The registration PIN is valid for up to seven days.
Can I use the PIN on multiple devices?
Yes.
What if I can’t access the internet to check my email?
Not all visitors will have smartphones or available cell service to check email. Check with your host to see see if they can facilitate access to the internet so you can receive your PIN. The IT Service Desk in Watzek Library can assist when open. Visitors to Watzek and Boley libraries can check to see when and what devices might be used by the general public to check web based email.
What if I didn’t receive the PIN email?
You’ll need Internet access. Have access to your email? Please check your spam folder for an email from svc-lcwireless@lclark.edu. You can also re-enter your email address if needed.
What if the connection portal/login page doesn’t load?
Try manually opening a web browser. If it is still not working, try restarting your device or turning Wi-Fi off and back on. It can take up to 30 seconds for your device to send you to the captive portal page automatically.
Can I use the PIN on multiple devices?
Yes. You can use your 7 day pin on as many devices as you wish.
What if I forgot my PIN?
Register again and a new PIN will be emailed to you.
What if I don’t have an email?
An email address is required to access the network. Consider setting up a free email account with a service like Gmail
May I get assistance connecting smart speakers, smart TVs, or similar devices regularly used in my office, classroom, lab, or conference room?
Guests should plan to use their PIN with these devices during their visit. Employees and students should attempt to use our secure network. If you need to connect a device that’s not compatible with our secure network, contact the IT Service Desk at itservice@lclark.edu to discuss connectivity options
Can I use my L&C email address to connect to a smart device on LC Guest?
Yes! We know that not all smart devices can connect to our secure network. L&C employees and students can use L&C email addresses to register and receive a PIN to connect to the LC Guest network. L&C employees and students should limit their use of this unsecure network. When employees use L&C provided computers, it is preferred they connect using secure Wi-Fi or ethernet.
Do I need to set anything up for my guests?
No setup is required, but it’s helpful to know the steps and Guest FAQs above so you can guide guests if they need help.
Can I request a PIN on a guest’s behalf?
No, each guest must enter their own email address and receive their own PIN.
What if a guest doesn’t get the PIN email?
Not all visitors will have smartphones or available cell service they can use to check email. If your guest is able to receive email, suggest they check their spam folder for an email from svc-lcwireless@lclark.edu. They can re-submit their email if needed.
What if my guest isn’t allowed to use their professional email to register for Wi-Fi access?
Any email account will work to register. Suggest your guest use their personal email account. If they don’t have one, consider helping them create a free account like Gmail.
What if a guest can’t access the internet to check their email?
Hosts may wish to facilitate guests access to the internet so they can check their email as not all visitors will have smartphones or available cell service. Watzek and Boley libraries provide public access to a limited number of internet connected devices for the general public to use to access library services when open to the general public. These computers could be used to check web based email. Check your library’s website for up-to-date details and instructions about services available to visitors.
