- During the war, posters were a popular way to communicate information, both on the front and back home. This French poster, titled L’Emprunt de la Liberation, 1918 (The Liberation Loan, 1918), shows the flags of various Allied nations bearing down on Kaiser Wilhelm II. It was designed to encourage contributions to the national War Loan to support the Allies.
