Jens Mache, professor of computer science, has earned a grant from the National Science Foundation.

Over three years, Mache and Richard Weiss, a colleague at Evergreen State College, will direct the project and develop a publicly available competition-based cybersecurity scenario environment (EDURange) designed to help students and faculty to learn and better teach security analysis skills.

Mache’s project—“Collaborative Research: TUES: Type1: EDURange: A Cybersecurity Competition Platform to Enhance Undergraduate Security Analysis Skills”—is Mache’s second TUES program award.

The Transforming Undergraduate Education in STEM Program (TUES) grant aims to “support efforts to create, adapt, and disseminate new learning materials and teaching strategies to reflect advances both in STEM disciplines and in what is known about teaching and learning,” according to the National Science Foundation.
