Summer Institute for Teachers
This summer, teachers will have an opportunity to delve into the story of the Lewis and Clark Expedition in the Pacific Northwest.
The Graduate School of Education, in partnership with the Oregon Council for the Humanities, is offering Lewis and Clark and the Legacies of Discovery, a five-day humanities-based institute that explores the expedition in the context of the Age of Enlightenment. From August 11 through 15, teachers will work with primary source documents, create grade-appropriate curricular materials, and participate in a field trip to The Dalles in the Columbia River Gorge.
