International Family Therapy Scholars to Visit Lewis & Clark

This fall, Lewis & Clark’s Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy program will host its first international research forum. At press time, the forum is planned for the week of October 14–20. Funded by President Barry Glassner’s Strategic Initiatives Fund, this event will bring three experts from the program’s international partners to campus from Colombia and Uganda.
Marisol Garcia, assistant professor of counseling psychology and one of the faculty members involved with the international track, is organizing the forum. The goal is to deepen and enhance relationships with international colleagues by bringing established international partners to support collective work and to provide opportunity for faculty and students to participate in collaborative research.
“We also want to reciprocate our partners’ graciousness in hosting Lewis & Clark faculty and students and give them the opportunity to see Lewis & Clark, visit the Community Counseling Center, and meet the rest of the department faculty,” says Garcia.
The international forum will be open to all members of the Lewis & Clark community. It will include formal presentations by visiting faculty, a student-led question-and-answer period, and more. For information, contact Marisol Garcia at mgarcia@lclark.edu.
