Each year, the Lewis & Clark Board of Alumni honors members of our community for their outstanding accomplishments and service. We’re proud to announce the 2023 honorees, who will receive their awards at the Alumni Honors Celebration during Alumni Weekend 2024 on Saturday, June 22.

Hillary Dixon BA ’99
Hillary served on the Board of Alumni for eight years, including three as president, and also helped establish an annual scholarship for English students. After graduating from L&C, she interned for the British Museum and Bloomsbury Publishing, and earned her MA in English from Boston University. Later, Hillary began working in social services, focusing on supporting survivors of domestic violence.
Mark Duntley, Retired Dean of Spiritual Life
Mark worked at Lewis & Clark for 32 years as chaplain and later as dean of spiritual life. A pastoral presence in times of both joy and tragedy, he maintained a passion for service on college committees, taught undergraduate classes, and affirmed a climate of inclusion that supported the campus’ diverse religious and spiritual identities.
Ululani Brigitte Russo Oana BA ’15
Ululani is a middle school science educator in Hawai‘i through Teach for America. She has a deep commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy and environmental stewardship. Ululani, who recently earned her MS and PhD in education, was selected for a We the Peoples Before Education Fellowship in 2022.
Art Van Zee BS ’69
A board-certified physician in addiction medicine as well as internal medicine, Art has become an outspoken critic of the effects of OxyContin and Purdue Pharma’s marketing. His work with local community groups who are seeking public policy changes and expansion of evidence-based treatment was featured in the books Pain Killer and Dopesick.
