CREW
Charlotte Copp BA ’18 returned to Palatine Hill to take over as head coach of the men’s and women’s crew program in August. Copp, who rowed for Lewis & Clark as an undergraduate, spent the past six seasons at Northwest Conference school Pacific University. She was named the NWC Coach of the Year in 2024 and shared the 2024 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Co-Division III West Region Coach of the Year award with former Pioneers coach Sam Taylor. Taylor left Lewis & Clark in August after leading the crew programs for 18 years.
CROSS COUNTRY, TRACK AND FIELD, AND SWIMMING
Head coaches Chris Reed and Caitlin DeNise each saw their titles change. Reed was elevated to the head men’s and women’s cross country and track and field coach after working with the track and field program exclusively in his first season. DeNise was named the head men’s and women’s swimming coach after serving in an interim role for the 2023–24 season.
ASSISTANT COACHES
Lewis & Clark also added a number of new faces as full-time assistant coaches. Former National Player of the Year Jack Thomson BA ’23 returned to Palatine Hill to join the Pioneers baseball staff this summer. Men’s basketball added Mount Hood Community College assistant Shawn Carson to their staff in September. Sarai Seekamp was hired in September to fill the new cross country and track and field assistant coach position.
