In August, Lewis & Clark’s men’s and women’s soccer teams traded the Pacific Northwest for the land of fire and ice. For eight unforgettable days in Iceland, they trained beneath sweeping skies, played against local club teams, and worked with pro coaches.

Senior goalkeeper Anna Ingadottir—whose family helped organize the trip—hosted the group in her home country, offering an insider’s view of Iceland’s culture and community.

Along the way, the teams connected with 55 Lewis & Clark parents, alumni, and staff, as well as President Robin Holmes-Sullivan, who were traveling in Iceland as part of the L&C Travel Program. Holmes-Sullivan also met with Silja Bara Omarsdottir BA ’95, chancellor of the University of Iceland, and Icelandic Ambassador Benedikt Höskuldssson BA ’83, who serves India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. His wife is Hjordis Magnusdottir BA ’83.

It was a week of soccer, camaraderie, and once-in-a-lifetime sights—all infused with a sense of fun and discovery.
