For 32 years, Rev. Mark Duntley served the Lewis & Clark community as dean of spiritual life. A beloved figure on campus, he was known for his commitment to philanthropy and the spirit of giving. Now, four years into retirement, Duntley remains an active part of the college community. One of the ways he continues giving back is as a member of the Fir Acres Loyalty Society, a group of alumni, parents, and friends who give to L&C every year.

“As I watched the college evolve and grow, one thing never changed: the need for resources,” says Duntley. Giving year after year, he believes, is a tangible way to turn beliefs and values into action—a way of saying, “I believe in what Lewis & Clark stands for, and I am grateful for the education and community it provides.”

Being a member of the Fir Acres Loyalty Society is an opportunity to support students as they develop the courage to lead with intention and find their place in the world. It’s a way of being a good friend to the college, helping it continue its mission of educating the next generation of leaders. We thank Duntley—and all of our Fir Acres Loyalty Society members—for being such good friends to the college and to our students!
