Join us on Saturday, April 11 for a 21+ variety show with performances by fellow L&C colleagues. L&C Community Casting Call: Grab your bell bottoms and show off your (hidden or hilarious) talent to help us raise money for TransActive!
One L&C invites all 21+ community members to a fabulous evening full of glitter, music, comedy, and your colleagues in groovy garb. Performances include employees from Alumni and Parent Programs, HR, Executive Council, Reggie “Regina” Raiford, a law school student band—and a special guest appearance by Miss Trans Oregon 2024!
There in will be free food and a hosted Bar (beer and wine) with donations benefiting GSEC’s TransActive, supporting social justice and equality for LGBTQAI+ youth and families.
Whether you’ve got Broadway-level pipes or a “talent” that’s spectacularly questionable, if you’ve got the spirit, we’ve got the stage. Your participation directly supports TransActive, making even a “bad” act a “good” deed!
The Vibe:
High energy, bell-bottoms, and zero judgment.
Who We’re Looking For:
The Talent: Singers, drag performers, dancers, poets, and musicians.
The “No Talent”: Professional napkin folders, competitive air-guitarists, dramatic readings of grocery lists, or whatever you do to make your friends laugh.
The Disco Divas: Anyone ready to lean into the theme and keep the energy electric.
Interested performers, please contact Reggie Raiford by Wednesday, April 1.
Join the Office of Equity and Inclusion for our summer book club read, the memoir Know My Name by Chanel Miller.
* We have reached the number of books we can offer for free. If you would still like to join for book club this summer, you are welcome to purchase the book, or check out your local library or Watzek and join for any and all discussions! :-) Email erikamore@lclark.edu if you plan to join, so she can add you to the calendar invites.
The ONE L&C Talent / No Talent Cabaret Disco Party was a vibrant celebration of community, defined by high-energy performances and a shared commitment to LGBTQAI+ youth and families.
