In recognition of his deep commitment to Lewis & Clark and the college’s alumni chapter in Japan, the Masamitsu Kanegae ’99 International Student Medical Emergency Fund has been established.

In recognition of his deep commitment to Lewis & Clark and the college’s alumni chapter in Japan, the Masamitsu Kanegae ’99 International Student Medical Emergency Fund has been established.

The fund honors the legacy of Masa, an alumnus who served as a valued ambassador for both Lewis & Clark and Japan. Known for fostering relationships built on curiosity, respect, and cross-

cultural understanding, Masa believed deeply in the power of connection across borders. This fund reflects the generosity and global spirit that defined Masa’s life.
