Lewis & Clark employees with Kaiser Permanente coverage have access to a range of mental health services, from self-care resources to crisis support.

• Self-Care Tools: Free access to wellness apps like Calm, Ginger, and myStrength for stress management, sleep improvement, and emotional well-being. Visit kp.org/selfcareapps.
• Wellness Coaching & Classes: Consult with a certified wellness coach by calling 503-286-6816 or 1-866-301-3866, option 2, or explore online wellness classes at kp.org/healthengagement/classes.
• Behavioral Health Care: Schedule an appointment online or call 1-800-813-2000 (TTY 711) for a same-day/next-day consultation with a behavioral health consultant—no referral needed.
• Specialty & Crisis Support:
  • For mental health or addiction medicine assessments, call 503-249-3434 or 1-855-632-8280.
  • In case of a crisis, call Kaiser’s crisis line at 503-331-6425 or 1-866-453-3932.
  • The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available via call or text for immediate assistance.

Canopy EAP Mental Health Support:

Lewis & Clark employees have access to Canopy EAP, a confidential and free resource that provides mental health support for both employees and their households.

Confidentiality:

Canopy EAP services are completely confidential—Lewis & Clark does not receive any personal, demographic, or identifying information about employees or their household members who use the program. Reports provided to the college only include general usage data, such as the types of services accessed and the number of sessions used, without any individual details. Your privacy is fully protected.

Seamless Care Continuity: Connecting You with Covered Providers

Canopy EAP will make every effort to connect members with a provider who accepts their insurance, helping to ensure continuity of care if they choose to continue services beyond their four allotted sessions. Canopy does have access to a network of mental health providers who are credentialed with Kaiser.

Key Mental Health Benefits:

• Four Free Counseling Sessions per Issue: Employees and their immediate family members or anyone living in their household can receive up to four sessions per concern, with no cost.
• 24/7 Confidential Support: Licensed professionals are available anytime for guidance on personal and work-related challenges.
• Flexible Counseling Options: Sessions can be conducted in person, via video, or over the phone.
• Diverse Areas of Support: Services cover a wide range of mental health topics, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, work-life balance, and more.
• Crisis Assistance: Immediate support is available for urgent mental health needs.

All services provided through Canopy EAP are confidential and separate from health insurance, ensuring privacy and accessibility for all eligible individuals.

County-Wide Mental Health Resources:

• Multnomah County Mental Health Crisis Line: Provides immediate assistance for mental health crises. ​
• Cascadia Health - Mental Health Urgent Walk-in Clinic: Offers immediate, in-person care for behavioral health crises at no cost. Located at 4212 SE Division St, Portland, OR.
• National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Multnomah County: Offers mental health support groups, 1:1 peer support, walking groups, education, and advocacy.
• Portland Therapy Center: Offers a database of mental health providers in the area with filters for demographic information, specialty, and insurances taken. Kaiser is included, make sure to select Kaiser from the insurance dropdown.
