Hi! My name is Abubakar, but you can call me Abu. I’m originally from Sindh, Pakistan.

I recently graduated from United World College (UWC) in Changshu, China, a place that
helped me discover more about myself, who I am, and what kind of life I want to live.

UWC gave me the opportunity to form global friendships, which I truly cherish. Its values
also helped me explore my leadership skills and become someone who paves the way
for others. One of the most important lessons I learned was respecting and valuing
different cultures. I feel incredibly lucky to have spent two years absorbing life lessons
from Chinese culture and traditions, which have deeply influenced me.

Now, I’m excited to pursue Computer Science, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership in
college. I want to use these fields to innovate solutions that improve people’s lives,
whether through technology, business, or community impact.

Outside of academics, I love reading, watching romantic Pakistani dramas, playing
volleyball, and splashing around in the swimming pool (though I’m still learning how to
handle water waves properly!).

I chose Lewis & Clark College because I was drawn to its lush green campus and
stunning beauty. I also admire its liberal arts education and interdisciplinary courses,
which will strengthen my analytical and critical thinking skills.

This will be my first time in the U.S., and I’m really excited to meet new people and
experience a different culture!
