UWC attended: United World College East Africa - Moshi Campus
Class Year: 2029

Hello everyone! I am Nojus, from Lithuania (with some African spice), and I graduated from UWC East Africa, Tanzania in May, 2024.
One of the reasons I loved UWC in Tanzania is the flame it sparked in me. The flame to create, to follow and to be part of something. I was lucky enough to participate in various cultural events, outdoor pursuits (even going as far, as climbing one of the highest mountains in Africa, which was super insane for me, as I come from a country where the highest hill is 300 meters:)
UWC allowed me to get to know myself better and become part of something bigger - from being a member of student government to just being a dormmate to others. The values UWC gave me, I will cherish it deeply in my heart forever.
That was also one of the reasons why I applied to Lewis and Clark as well. The international community and ability to learn not only in classes, but outside of them as well was my major deciding point (so major, that I applied here ED!!). I will be honest, as a zero-mountains-in-a-native-country person, campus and its environment also played a huge part in applying exactly here. I am beyond excited to see how much I can learn from being a part of this community and hopefully return the gift of learning in some ways!! (hopefully, my UWC creativity skills will help me:))

And surprise surprise, I plan to major in history and international affairs! (Though, majoring in education is always at back of my mind) - also one of the reasons I chose LC, as Teachers Pathways was one of the first things I’ve heard about this school.
I had amazing teachers in UWC and they helped so much. It taught me, that even one comment or one assignment can turn your mindset into completely different adventure, which is why I think I would love to become a teacher. But as for now, history major will be the starting point! (and maybe later I will indeed become a history teacher, will see).

I love cooking (especially sweets), so be ready for incoming cupcakes and waffles season! I do enjoy travelling, especially by bus (yes, I know, but it is super fun!), my longest journey was 12 hours and I’m intrigued to see if living in West Coast can improve this milestone. I’m also interested in acting and photography! Can not wait to take 1000 pictures of the campus!

One thing I hope to accomplish at LC is hopefully, do something for the community. After all, this community is welcoming me and I want to be equally kind and passionate about this as well. Please, I really want to do at least one campus tour as a guide. I think that would be super cool!
