Dr. Molly McAllister ’98 graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a BA in biology and participated in the first overseas program to Oaxaca, Mexico. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. McAllister is a veterinarian and the global chief medical officer at Mars Veterinary Health, a division of Mars Petcare. She began her veterinary career with the completion of a medical and surgical equine internship before transitioning to small animal practice in the Portland, OR, area. Inspired by field work done as part of her biology major, she also spent significant time supporting conservation efforts with the Audubon Society of Portland, now Bird Alliance of Oregon, through public education and wildlife rehabilitation services. In 2020, she founded the Diversify Veterinary Medicine Coalition and today serves as the past president.
As the global chief medical officer, she guides quality veterinary care across Mars Veterinary Health’s network of nearly 3,000 veterinary clinics and hospitals around the world, delivering care to 35 million pets annually through over 70,000 dedicated veterinary team members. She is passionate about the importance of health, well-being and representation and belonging for veterinary professionals, the evolving role of pets in society and the importance of the human animal bond, and the value of accessible quality veterinary care to ensure that owning a healthy pet is an equitable right for pet lovers globally.
