🚴 Pedal Power: Upgrading Bike Parking on Campus!
Focus Areas: Watzek and JRHH Bike Parking
Construction Starts: Summer 2025
Anticipated Completion: 8/31/2026
Big improvements are rolling in for our cyclists! As part of a three-year, $750K investment, we are in the final phase of upgrading bike parking across campus to meet new standards set by the Portland Bureau of Transportation. This ensures our campus continues to be a leader in sustainable, bike-friendly transportation!
What’s Happening?
More Secure & Convenient Parking – New bike racks will be strategically placed for easy access and maximum security.
Meeting Modern Standards – These upgrades align with Portland’s updated zoning code, ensuring we provide adequate short- and long-term parking for our growing community of cyclists as well as e-bike charging.
Why This Matters:
✅ Encourages Sustainable Transportation – More students and staff can bike to campus with confidence.
✅ Supports Campus Growth – As our community grows, so does the need for better, more accessible bike parking.
✅ Investing in the Future – This is just the beginning of a long-term plan to enhance cycling infrastructure across campus.
With these upgrades, biking to campus will be more convenient, secure, and accessible than ever!
