Keeping Our ‘Cool’
Sierra magazine has named Lewis & Clark one of its top five “Cool Schools” for 2017. The annual ranking methodically assesses more than 200 of North America’s most sustainability-minded colleges and universities. Lewis & Clark is the only liberal arts college on the West Coast —and the only school in Oregon— to make the top 10. This is the sixth year in a row the college has made the list.

Alumni Weekend 2017
In June, more than 1,000 alumni, friends, and family enjoyed sunny skies in Portland while attending Alumni Weekend, a whirlwind set of events featuring class reunions, a traditional salmon bake and barbecue, a Dixieland band, and more.
Besides reconnecting with former roommates and classmates, alumni relived their housing experience in the residence halls, enjoyed a fabulous brunch in Fields Dining Room, participated in an on-campus pub crawl, attended Pioneer College sessions, sang to tunes from the ’60s, and danced the night away to ’80s music in the Trail Room. The Albany Society, the college’s honorary group for alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago, inducted more than 35 new members from the class of 1967. Alumni celebrating their reunions showed their Pioneer pride by raising $331,102 for the college. The class of 1972 raised the most gifts totaling $87,472, and the classes of 1962 and 1967 saw the highest participation, each with 29 percent.
