New Vice President, Chief of Staff, General Counsel, and Board Secretary

David Reese has joined Lewis & Clark as its next general counsel, board secretary, and inaugural chief of staff. Reese, who has served in various roles at Portland State University for the last decade, started in May and will be full time by late July.

A Peace Corps Top Producer

Continuing a long-standing tradition as a top provider of volunteers, Lewis & Clark ranked 16th among small schools on the Peace Corps’ 2018 Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities list, up 9 spots from 2016.

New Plaza for Law Campus

Ted “Yogi” Jordan, a beloved food service worker, died February 15, 2018, at age 78. Jordan had been a member of the Bon Appétit family and the Lewis & Clark community for four decades.

Mort Jacobs, professor emeritus of English, died July 5, 2017, at age 87. He taught at Lewis & Clark from 1964 until 1984.

Roger Paget

Roger Paget, institutional professor emeritus of political economy and Asian studies, died April 1, 2018, of complications from ocular melanoma, at age 81.

Music, dance, food, and fun greeted attendees of the 53rd annual International Fair. Presented by the International Students of Lewis & Clark, the event is designed to celebrate the many cultures and nationalities represented at the college. This year’s fair, titled Beyond the Wall: Breaking Down Cultural Stereotypes, offered expanded programming, including documentary film screenings and a world language poetry night.
