Composting

Composting and food waste management is available in many locations on campus.

Lewis & Clark is participating in a pilot composting program with the City of Portland. This program is aimed at understanding the challenges and barriers surrounding composting for people living in multi-unit complexes or apartments. If you have been invited to participate and have general questions, please contact Amy Dvorak.

For those halls participating in the program:

  • Please see the list of approved food waste items below.
  • Contact your RA or REM with questions specific to your hall set-up.
  • For apartment dwellers, please see your RA for replacement compostable bags.

Additional details about this program including informational events, will be provided by email and posted in relevant halls.
