Parking Citation Appeals

To appeal a citation that you received, please see the information below:

Appeal Instructions:

  • Login to Parking Portal
  • If you have a single sign on (SSO)
    • Click LClark Login and signin
    • Under “Citations” heading you will see 3 options: View your citations, view your appeals, and view your letters. Click on view your citations.
    • Click on the appeal button on the active citation. Please note that citations older than 10 days are no eligible for appeal.
    • Follow the prompts and submit. 
  • If you do not have an account
    • You will see place on the main page to input the citation number or license plate info
    • Once inputted, you should see the citation and have a few options: add to basket and appeal. Click on Appeal. 
    • Follow prompts and submit.

Reasons to Appeal a Citation:

  • Officer Error (Not parked illegally)
    • Have permit
    • Parked in valid space and/or lot 
  • Extraordinary circumstances
    • Car broke down - Attempted to contact Campus Safety and/or T&P alerting us of the issue 
    • Had emergency that required you to park illegally (excluding hazard and ADA parking) - Attempted to contact Campus Safety and/or T&P alerting us of the issue
    • Have received temporary permission to park in specific area or spot that normally would be illegal.
    • Have ADA placard, but it fell down.

Unapproved Appeal Reasons:

  • I was running late
  • There was no parking (not enough parking)
  • I did not know that I needed a parking permit
  • I was only parked for a few minutes
  • This is my first ticket

Forgiveness Program:

  • We will waive up to 2, unregistered/no permit citations in exchange for the purchase of a permit
    • Semester permit purchase - 1 citation waived
    • Annual permit purchase - 2 citations waived. 
    • Day passes are not eligible for this program
    • Citations written for non-permit violations (ADA, Fire Lane, Hazards, Reserved Spaces) are not eligible for program.
      • When ticket is written as no permit, but there is a secondary violation that is not approved for forgiveness, the ticket is not eligible for program. 
        • Example: Someone without a permit parking in a staff lot.
    • Booted Vehicles are NOT eligible for forgiveness program.
