New LC Shuttle Route Proposal
The Lewis & Clark College Transportation and Parking (T&P) Office would like to propose a new LC Shuttle route option to enhance service for the 2026-27 academic year, balancing student mobility, equity, community engagement, and fiscal responsibility.

Key facts about proposed changes
- Change would only affect weekday shuttle service. The weekend route will remain the same (both schedule and route).
- Weekday shuttle would shift from a North-South (West of river) route to an East-West Route connecting students to Sellwood.
- New route prioritizes connecting students to transit hubs which will provide greater access to all of Portland Metro via TriMet.
- New route will run one hour.
Limitations and Reasoning
- Unable to have a route that services both downtown Portland and Sellwood due to budgetary constraints and route length (time).
- Downtown Portland is still accessible via TriMet 35T; Currently TriMet does not offer direct service to Sellwood from LC.
- Ridership data indicates relatively low utilization on weekday mornings vs weekday afternoons and weekends. We attribute this to residents using to get to Fred Meyer on weekday afternoons/evenings, but we are looking for feedback.
Feedback
- The T&P Office will be hosting several informational sessions in the coming weeks to get direct student feedback and to answer questions. We will send out a campus wide communication in email as well as through the Source, when dates are set.
- The T&P office will be sending out a Transportation Survey in early-mid October. A portion of this survey will be to gather data on proposed route change. Please make sure to complete survey to provide your feedback for the new route proposal.
Key stops that shuttle would no longer serve:
- Shattuck Hall (PSU)
- Barbur
Key stops added:
- Fred Meyer (all day instead of only after 5pm)
- Barbur Transit Center
- New Seasons (SE Tacoma St)
- SE Tacoma Park n Ride (Connects to Orange MAX)
