TriMet
TriMet provides bus, light rail and commuter rail service in the Portland metro area. Our transportation options connect people with their community, while easing traffic congestion and reducing air pollution—making our region a better place to live. If you’re looking to plan a trip or for more information, check TriMet’s trip planner.
Lewis & Clark issues Hop Cards, digital passes from TriMet that are personalized for the user. L&C students and staff can only receive the college discount by using Lewis & Clark’s parking portal. TriMet bus passes are discounted 75%. The discount is paid for by parking fees on campus. This program is an institutional account, and has no connection to the public TriMet website. Only the Transportation & Parking department has access to the institutional account.

Discounts and Subsidized Bus Passes
The College will provide a 75% subsidy for the cost of monthly TriMet Bus Passes purchased for use by eligible students, faculty, and staff of the College. Fees are as follows:
- All-Zone Hop Card: $25.00 per month
- All Zone 10 Hop Tickets: $7.00
Monthly TriMet bus passes are sold to faculty and staff by pre-tax monthly payroll deduction. When purchasing in the parking portal, a “payroll deduction” option should be listed under payment methods.
The Lewis & Clark subsidized TriMet bus pass purchase policy is as follows:
- Only Lewis & Clark students, faculty, and staff are authorized to purchase and use subsidized monthly bus passes and trip tickets. Use of the pass by family, friends, or associates is a violation of this policy and is grounds for disqualification from future purchases of subsidized bus passes.
- Only one (1) subsidized monthly bus pass purchase for each Lewis & Clark student, faculty member, or staff member is permitted.
- For summer term, only those students or employees taking summer courses or working at the institution may purchase a subsidized permit. The intention of this subsidy is to reduce single occupancy vehicles to campus during this time frame.
