Several people have joined our community recently, some continuing employees have taken on new roles at Lewis & Clark, and a few said a fond farewell.

The Office of Equity and Inclusion is excited to welcome Erika to the team.

Erin J. Severe, an accomplished appellate lawyer and attorney at the Federal Public Defender, joins Lewis & Clark as a Visiting Professor in Lawyering.

Angela Aneiros joins Lewis & Clark Law School as a business law professor, bringing over fifteen years of combined experience as a trial attorney, clinical supervisor, and business law scholar.

Lewis & Clark welcomes experienced DOJ prosecutor Cecil VanDevender as a visiting professor in Lawyering. After years of advocating for justice in courtrooms, he looks forward to guiding attorneys in training.

Dean of Equity and Inclusion Danielle Torres will begin her tenure as Associate Dean of the Graduate School and Community Dialogues Director on September 2, 2025. In order to ensure a smooth transition for the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI), she will continue to also serve as Dean until January 2026.

This August, the law school bid a fond “Bon Voyage” to a Lewis & Clark Law School fixture, Steve Johansen JD ’87.

Ben Meoz, who has been with the college since 2021 and served as Interim Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students since April, begins his tenure on August 18.

Professor of Psychology Tom Schoeneman is retiring from Lewis & Clark after 43 years.

L&C is deeply honored to have Dr. Luhui Whitebear As the 2025-26 Native Artist/Scholar in Residence at Lewis & Clark.

Saultz, an alum of the graduate school’s secondary social studies MAT program, brings a wide range of expertise in educational policy, the politics of education, and the intersection of health and education policy.

Warren, who assumes the new role on August 4, will spearhead Lewis & Clark’s historic partnership with Albina Vision Trust, as well as cultivate new institutional partnerships.

The Career Accelerator will focus on pairing a liberal arts education with targeted, high-impact career development experiences to provide undergraduate students with the skills needed to secure competitive jobs after graduation.
