L&C seniors partnered with Portland’s Albina residents to respond to their environmental priorities, collecting and evaluating data on air quality, traffic safety, and the potential use of mass timber.

May 5–8, students can drop items in good condition to donation sites in Holmes, Copeland, Platt, Tamarack, Stewart, and Fowler 215 (game room). The swap—where everyone is welcome to shop for free—will be held May 7–8 in Fowler 215.

This year’s ENVX Symposium, Common Ground: How We Can Engage Across Difference With a Shared Love of Land, was held September 29 through October 3. The symposium united panelists and students in dialogue founded upon months of community conversation and outreach.

In June, Lewis & Clark partnered with the Energy Trust of Oregon to offer a one-week training course designed to prepare college students for internships in the energy efficiency sector.

Visiting Assistant Professor Devin Fitzpatrick designed his new course, Data for Good, to challenge students to get their hands dirty—both in messy datasets and in the soil—through a partnership with the Portland-based nonprofit Growing Gardens.
