L&C seniors partnered with Portland’s Albina residents to respond to their environmental priorities, collecting and evaluating data on air quality, traffic safety, and the potential use of mass timber.

“Face-to-Face” public humanities programs, funded by the Mellon Foundation, will bring Albina neighborhood residents, community partners, and L&C students and faculty together to address social justice, environmental justice, and cultural concerns.

Sarah Warren has been accepted into the 2026-27 Campus Compact Mid-Career Learning Community cohort. This opportunity brings together a diverse group of community engagement practitioners to collaborate, share learnings, and build networks.

Lewis & Clark partnered with the Albina Music Trust to preserve Portland’s Black musical heritage, bringing Albina’s songs to campus through a panel discussion and immersive sound installation.

The Office of the President invites all L&C employees for a year of planning and programming in support of Lewis & Clark’s partnership with Albina Vision Trust. Please join the upcoming book + film discussion on Sept. 30 or Oct. 1. We also need to hear your ideas for projects by Oct. 17 for collaboration with residents in the newly opened Albina One apartment building.

Graduate school faculty and students attended the Albina One grand opening, hosting a reading corner with books, games, and art making opportunities for families and children. The books and materials will remain at Albina One to become part of their future library.

Warren, who assumes the new role on August 4, will spearhead Lewis & Clark’s historic partnership with Albina Vision Trust, as well as cultivate new institutional partnerships.

The new collaboration will build a hub for education and economic opportunity within Portland’s redeveloped Lower Albina district to foster learning as a core value of the community and provide opportunities for Albina residents and Lewis & Clark students, staff, and faculty.
