Jamboard Shutting Down
Google will retire Google Jamboard on October 1, 2024, and officially shut down the service on December 31, 2024. Learn how this will impact you, as well as actions you need to take to prevent data loss.
What to expect
- On October 1st, 2024, The Jamboard app (jamboard.google.com) will become view-only. You’ll no longer be able to create new or edit existing Jams on any platform, including the web, iOS, Android, and Jamboard physical devices.
- After December 31, 2024, you will no longer be able to access the Jamboard app or your Jam files, and any remaining Jam files will be deleted. The service will be officially shut down.
Actions to take before December 31
Before December 31, 2024, you should download and export your Jam files.
You can export a Jam file as a PDF or PNG file from your computer, the Jamboard mobile app, or Google Drive.
Note: In addition to enabling you to proactively export your Jams before the end of 2024, Google will automatically convert any remaining Jams to PDF files and save them to each owner’s Google Drive in the same place they were originally stored. This will not require any further input from you and will help ensure Jam files are converted and not deleted. Per Google, “PDF conversions are done on a best-effort basis,” so we encourage you to manually do this on your end before the service shutdown. Google states they will share more information about this process in the coming months.
Jamboard Alternatives
While we do not officially support or offer Jamboard alternatives, Google provides several suggestions.
