Dear L&C community,

Welcome to the 2025-26 academic year at Lewis & Clark. I’m so happy you are here. You have made a great decision to be a part of this caring academic community.

Across all three schools, we are welcoming extraordinary groups of students. At the undergraduate College of Arts & Sciences, the incoming class includes 531 first-year students, and 58 students who transferred from elsewhere. Thirty-four U.S. states are represented, plus D.C. and Puerto Rico, and 45 countries and nationalities. At the Graduate School of Education and Counseling, 310 students are starting this fall or began this summer. Nearly 80 percent are from Oregon and nearly one third of the members of the class are first-generation graduate students. At the Lewis & Clark Law School, the only law school in Portland, we are welcoming 177 1Ls (first-year law students), all with impressive Law School Admission Scores (LSATs) and GPAs.

Each and every one of you is a valued member of this community and I am thrilled to have you as a part of it. If you see me on campus, please stop me and say, Hello! I would love to hear how things are going for you.

Meanwhile, I hope your year is filled with exceptional educational experiences and abundant opportunities for growth.

Sincerely,

Robin H. Holmes-Sullivan

President
